Lots of info here, so bear with us - if you don't want to drive
(and we'd rather you didn't) you'll find all you need to know here.
No pictures on this page as you all know what a bus looks like and you'll probably
want to print this out. Happy travels!
To see where we are on the map click here for a Multimap; you can zoom right in to see the roads too.
Our nearest train stations are Fishguard Harbour and Haverfordwest.
Fishguard Harbour is nearer but with very infrequent trains.
For train information ring 0845 7484950.
National Express runs coaches to Haverfordwest. For coach information
ring 08705 808080.
From Haverfordwest take bus number 412 to Newport - this takes an hour. The bus leaves from directly outside Haverfordwest train station and also stops at Haverfordwest bus station. The 412 runs approximately hourly from 9am until 6.45pm Monday to Saturday. For current 412 bus times ring Richards Brothers on 01239 613 756. It runs infrequently on a Sunday and is operated by a different bus company - for current times ring Traveline (number below). At the time of writing, the last bus from Haverfordwest on a Sunday was at 3.30pm and from Newport to Haverfordwest 5.05pm.
Fishguard Harbour train station is actually in Goodwick (and not Fishguard!).
From the train, take bus number 410 to Fishguard Square. This is a ten minute
journey. From Fishguard Square take the 412 to Newport (see above). This is
a twenty minute journey. The 410 is also operated by Richards Brothers.
If you are travelling from elsewhere in Wales, the midlands
or the north you may find it quicker and/or cheaper to travel via Aberystwyth.
From Aberystwyth take the number X50 bus (from next to the train station)
to Cardigan Finch Square. This is approximately a two hour journey. You may
have to take the X40 to Aberaeron and then change to the X50. The X50 and X40
are also operated by Richards Brothers - phone for current times. The Sunday
service is operated by Arriva Cymru - ring Traveline for details (number below).
From Cardigan take the 412 bus to Newport - this is approximately a twenty
minute journey. The last 412 bus at time of writing from Cardigan Monday to
Saturday is at 7.15pm and 4.40pm on a Sunday. Ring Richards Brothers for current
times. From Aberystwyth a West Wales Explorer ticket will take you all the way
to Newport and costs around £6. For all public transport enquires within Wales
ring Traveline Wales on 0871 200 22 33
From Newport to Us
It is a thirty minute, mainly uphill, walk from Newport to Brithdir Mawr.(1.8
miles)
Head out of Newport in the direction of Cardigan.
You'll pass The Golden Lion pub on your left. Take the next
turning on the right, which is signed to Cilgwyn.
At the T-junction turn left and follow this road for about a mile (do not take
any forks up the mountain - just stick to this road).
After the road starts going downhill for a fair bit look out for our track and homemade "Brithdir Mawr" sign on the left. You have arrived. If you reach Cilgwyn you've gone just slightly too far. If you have heavy luggage or small children, give us a ring and we may be able to pick you up from Newport.
Finally a quick Welsh lesson .. Newport=Trefdraeth . . .Fishguard=Abergwaun . . .Cardigan=Aberteifi . . Haverfordwest=Hwlffordd . . .Wales=Cymru.
