A lot of people would like to visit us, for different reasons.
We've worked out different ways of visiting according to your wants:
You can come:
ALTERNATIVELY, if you are a joiner or even just a proficient wood worker we are looking for someone to come for a month or so and build us a new kitchen in the communal living room. You'll be fed and looked after and all materials will be provided. Bear in mind that we can only use heavy power tools when it is windy so you'll need to be good with hand tools too! If you are interested, get in touch via the contact link.
Note: There is a Diary at the bottom of this page that gives an overview of when things are happening.
If you are looking for a community to join, we may be looking for you!
Please read this page if you are a potential applicant.

HERE

with detailed info for public transport.
Bear in mind that some courses have discounts for those arriving by public transport.
PLEASE
HELP US BY BEING CERTAIN ABOUT YOUR VISIT
For all potential visitors;
PLEASE NOTE: Accommodation is limited, and demand is high.
For every person
we accept as a volunteer or visitor there are several others we have to turn down.
Secondly, when we have bookings, extra meals are cooked and suitable work activities are planned, taking man/ woman power away from other tasks. So we ask you to understand that it is considerably inconvenient for us and unfair to other potential visitors if you don't turn up or have to cancel at very short notice.
Please confirm your place well before you are due to come and if you do have to cancel your visit do so as soon as you can to give us a chance to offer the place to someone else. We are a friendly, laid back sort of place but it really does matter whether or not you come. Thanks!
WHAT TO BRING AND
EXPECT - ALL VISITORS
You'll
need wellies, work gloves, a torch, sleeping bag or bedding and some slippers or
indoor shoes ( the slate floors are cold).
Accommodation can
be anything between a private bedroom in the farmhouse
to a mattress on the floor in a dormitory depending on the event and the circumstances.
Course accommodation is usually
in our comfortable, newly converted,
(& quite spacious) loft dormitory with four beds, segregated by curtains.
Please note this is a mixed-gender
dormitory.
If this causes problems for you please let us know; an alternative may be
available.
This is a working farm so conditions can sometimes be pretty basic & muddy
in places (both indoors & out!) - but most people love it.
